Description

CLUTCH FABBRI 12R "SUPER RACING" - 6/12/18 SPRINGS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS and APPLICATION INDICATIONS This clutch was born from the experience gained on the racing fields and from the road use of Fabbri Racing clutches. a new, even more advanced project: the new 12-R clutch by Fabbri Racing for VESPA 50-90-125 PRIMAVERA-ET3-PK-PK XL APE 50. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: The clutch is made up of: • Clutch basket machined from solid steel • 6 springs with a diameter of 14 mm in harmonic steel • 6 springs with a diameter of 10 mm in harmonic steel • spring holder and closing disc made from an innovative alloy used on all Fabbri Racing clutches. This alloy guarantees the durability of the spring holder and closing disc over time. • 4 discs lined with organic friction material • 3 1.5 mm thick dotted steel inner discs (it is recommended not to replace them with aluminium inner discs to avoid harmful deposits inside the engine oil) • high-strength steel seeger ring • Clutch pressure plate bearing support machined from solid Anticorodal alloy, with axial thrust bearing equipped with stainless steel cap with centering hole (Fabbri racing patent) to align the clutch cover, it also has the possibility of being shimmed using shims to vary the distance from the clutch pressure plate. SPRING SETUP CHOICE: • 6 large springs: for 10/12 hp touring engines: using the 6 springs makes the clutch lever actuation more comfortable • 12 springs: for engines up to 25 hp: using the 12 springs guarantees slip resistance • 18 springs: for engines over 30 hp: adding 6 small springs inside the 6 large ones. NB: when using the 18 springs, it is recommended to use a clutch cover with a rack clutch to make the clutch lever actuation softer) ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS ASSEMBLY: • Proceed with assembly starting from the clutch basket, the fixing nut to the basket should be tightened with a torque wrench to 55 Nm, (it is recommended to apply medium thread lock). • Insert the springs into the spring holder and, using the extractor/intractor, compress the spring holder. • Position the discs as per the sequence shown above, placing the steel inner discs from no. 1 to no. 3. • Place the closing disc and the relative seeger ring. • Once the clutch has been installed, before applying the pressure plate, we recommend checking the full-travel release (the Fabbri Racing extractor/intractor is recommended), which will allow you to rotate it to check for any sliding on the primary pair. Once the check has been completed, install the pressure plate + stainless steel cap into the clutch and now apply the gasket and cover. FOR CORRECT ASSEMBLY WHICH AVOIDS THE RISK OF DRAGGING OR SLIPPERING, WE RECOMMEND: • Use reinforced Fabbri Racing type keys. • Use SAE 30 engine oil with which you will also wet the lined discs at least 30 minutes before assembly (the discs do not need to be immersed). Only use the steel inner discs supplied in the KIT. Do not replace with aluminum inner discs (the dotted steel combined with the organic lining guarantees the integrity of the engine oil, avoiding aluminum deposits) VESPA SMALL FRAME: VESPA 50-90-125 PRIMAVERA-ET3-PK-PK XL APE 50 SPRING SETUP CHOICE: ->6 large springs: for 10/12 hp touring engines: using the 6 springs makes clutch lever operation more comfortable ->12 springs: for engines up to 25 hp: using the 12 springs guarantees slip resistance ->18 springs: for engines over 30 hp: adding 6 small springs inside the 6 large ones.
